Houghton Horns is proud to offer brass instrument rentals to residents of Texas. Whether you’re a beginner who’s just getting started, a student with years of experience, or a former player who wants to get back into playing, we’ve got you covered.
High-Quality Instruments
All instruments that are rented out by Houghton Horns are checked over by our repair shop (one of the best in the country) and test-played by professional musicians. You can rest assured that you will get an instrument that won’t hold you back from achieving your best.
Short- and Long-Term Rentals Available
Whether you need your instrument for only a month or for years we’ve got you covered! There is a one-month minimum for all rentals and you’ll enjoy a lower monthly rate if you pay for at least three months up front.
Optional Repair and Maintenance Plan
For a low monthly rate of you can rest assured that you’ll be covered for any maintenance your instrument may need. This is a great value, as it covers the cost of your annual ultrasonic cleaning.
The repair and maintenance plan also covers damage received during normal and appropriate use of the instrument. (See our terms and conditions.)
Automatic Payment Withdrawal
We utilize a secure ACH system to withdraw your monthly payment directly from your bank account. You don’t have to worry about missing a payment!

Here’s How It Works
Select the instrument and the initial rental term.
Print out the Instrument Rental Agreement and fill in your information.
Pay the first rental payment and the security deposit.
Here’s What You’ll Need
You’ll need to present a government-issued photo ID. The name on the photo ID, voided check, and credit card must all match and that person must be physically present to pick up the instrument.
You’ll need to give us a voided check so that we can set up automatic payment withdrawals from your checking account. (This is mandatory.)
We’ll need to keep your credit card information (securely) on file for use as a secondary payment method in case the automatic payment withdrawal from your checking account fails.
You will need to pay a security deposit equal to one month's rent. This deposit is fully refundable if the instrument is returned to us in its original condition, minus wear and tear from reasonable usage.
Please bring a photo ID, a credit card, and a voided check.

Frequently Asked Questions
-- Will you ever offer these rentals to customers outside of Texas?
Yes, we eventually plan to expand the program, especially for specialty instrument such as descant horns and rotary trumpets.
-- Am I responsible if my rented instrument is lost or stolen?
Yes, you are financially responsible for the full price of the instrument if it is lost or stolen. Please check with your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance to see if they will provide coverage for rented items.
